I purchased a back-UPS RS 600 in July 2011 from Mercy Electronics, Chennai.I've connected a desktop computer to it. I find that when power is off, the UPS shuts off within two/three minutes making the entire purchase of UPS futile...I guess that I'm missing some tricks. I would appreciate some answers to rectify this..Ganeshan, Chennai

Good day Ganeshan,
I would like to know if you've installed the software that came with the unit, PowerChute Personal Edition or might be using the Native UPS software that your computer offers? This would help us analyze if the software is commanding your PC to turn off. Also, do you have any idea with the total wattage consumption of the load and the runtime that the UPS offers?

I also have the same model. I just bought yesterday from the same shop mentioned above. My UPS didnt even power up my PC.It just provides the long constant beep. I disconnected the PC and Monitor still the same results
I Charged the UPS for about 10 hrs and tried. No use 😞 .
I tired to use the UPS battery , its works fine. When Swicth to on-line mode its working. It just give a constant beep.
Can you tell what could be the problem?

Normally, if the UPS emits a constant beep and the unit does not provide power it is what do we call as an overload condition. Were you able to turn the UPS on without any load attached to it?
