My BX1300G Back-UPS just blew out with a loud pop and tripped my household circuit breaker after about four months from purchase. I reset the household circuit breaker but the UPS won't even power on ever again. How do I get a replacement? Does UPS offer advance RMA where they ship the replacement unit after secured with a credit card and then I send the defective unit back to APC? There is now no power from any of the outlets in the back of the UPS and the UPS won't even start at all when I press the power button.

it may have scarified itself to absorb a surge or something similar. if the unit is not functioning, yes, APC will do an RMA advanced exchange for you so that you can get a new unit first and then ship back the old one to us.
just contact APC support - they will ask you a few questions such as the exact model number and serial number then provide you with an RMA number.

What component makes a loud pop noise when it fails? Can a power surge cause the UPS to fail permanently?
