I have a number of older BACK-UPS 500 units. They have serial cables with them. Can I purchase and use a USB cable instead with these units? Thanks.

Ive used these for programing switches and whatnot with great success.. I cant think of why they wouldnt work with a serial UPS interface.

unfortunately, these UPSs are a bit dated and only supported serial communications. there is no USB cable available.

So related to this. I have an ES 350 (a couple of years old) that has a serial port signalling cable (looks like an RJ connector on the UPS end and a 9 pin serial port on the computer end). Can I purchase a USB cable to use with this one? Thanks.

i'll need the exact model of the ES 350 from the white sticker on the unit. we have like 5+ 350VA models with different requirements.
thanks.

i double checked that one. unfortunately it only supports serial communication only in simple signaling mode.
