smc1500i casing isn't aligned correctly - faulty?

This was originally posted on APC forums on 12/18/2014

Hi

My smc1500i casing isn't aligned correctly (on the right hand side), see the red highlighted selection, there's a small gap in between the plastic face covering & metal case.

The left hand side has no gap.

I bought this UPS 2 days ago from an online retailer here in the United Kingdom. Should I return it or are all of these units the same?

That front bezel moves - I assume you tried to move/readjust it to make sure it just was not seated properly?

I am not sure what else could be done besides that and returning it if you're not happy with (which I can't blame you if you spent a lot of money on it). Assuming it was an authorized reseller and sold as new,  your local support should be able to provide you with a replacement exchange.

Hi

I also own a BR1500GI -
APC Pro 1500 I was very happy with it, cost me £260 (owned it for about 1 year)

The smc1500i cost me £375 so I was expecting a good quality product?
