I have been upgrading our APC Smart-UPS devices as a result of the recent security notifications. Was able to successfully upgrade all our Smart-UPS SRT 2200 to UPS 15.0 (ID1025). Trying to upgrade our Smart-UPS SRT 3000 (SRT3000RMXLT) has immediately resulted in the UPS shrieking with a "Site Wiring Fault", essentially breaking the UPS. Fortunately I have been able to downgrade each of them to UPS 07.9 (ID1025) and the UPS has returned to normal working status.
Wanted to save someone else from wasting hours trying to upgrade the same model. I attempted to open a ticket but six days later, still haven't received a reply.

OMG
I have the exact same problem. Upgraded to V15 and now the UPS is telling me wiring fault. Cannot use it anymore. I wish I would have seen your post BEFORE trying to upgrade ....
I cannot find an older firmware online, do you still have your older firmware you could send me ?
Thank you

You should be able to search and download the prior version of the Upgrade Wizard, v4.2, that’s what I did, it has a good version of the firmware. If not I can email it to you.
The downgrade process is a little tricky because you can’t install firmware when the UPS is in error state. This is what I did to work around it.
1) Transfer the older version of the firmware to the UPS.
2) Watch the transfer process, as soon as it starts verifying the firmware, unplug the UPS and disconnect the battery
3) Turn on the UPS using battery power only, it won’t be in an error state.
4) Log in to the NMC and finish installing the firmware, it may take a couple minutes for the NMC & UPS to communicate after the cold boot and see there is available firmware to install.
I’m surprised this update got past quality control.

ok I finally found an older version but was not able to downgrade.
I will try the steps you explained, should do the trick.
Thank you very much !
I cannot believe this firmware got out. I'm about to throw this thing out of the window
