How might I handle battery replacement in Smart-UPS 5000?
My gear is new (~2 years old), the batteries are fine, according to the WebUI. But I figure eventually they will wear out, my monitoring system will pick up the alarm, and I'll want to replace them. I suppose my options are:
Am I on the right track here?
As an aside, how long might batteries in SmartUPS-5000 last? Is this a 2-5 year type of thing?

Hi Stuart -
Battery replacement is a simple straight forward process that does not require an electrician or any specialized knowledge. It can be performed while the UPS is online without taking down the attached load. If you purchase APC brand batteries they will include a link to print out a pre-paid label to ship the old batteries back for disposal. If your Smart-UPS 5000 is an SRT series it will also have the ability to show you an expected battery replacement date so you can plan for replacement in advance rather than waiting for the UPS to tell you that the battery needs to be replaced. If you need assistance in replacing the battery or on selecting a replacement battery cartridge, our Tech Support teams are always available to assist.
Thanks,
Liam Gray

UPS batteries depend upon the fact that how much they discharge deeply in a week. There is a battery tester you better to test the individual battery and replace the infected one. For 5kva ups no need to go for a maintenance contract
