Is there anyway to reset the ap9617 to factory configuration without the ap9617 being in a UPS? Removing the button battery does not clear the settings.
Thanks

I've done work on these cards with them installed in an AP9600 smartslot expansion chassis powered by a 24 vdc adapter...that's the only way to both power them and access them serially that I know of.

Just a quick follow-up question. What is the purpose of the button battery on the ap9617?

It just keeps the date and time. I guess then if it fails just the date and time would reset when the card removed from power. I thought that for this type of application these would last upwards of 10 years potentially so then it might be time for an upgrade if it does die - it is not designed to be replaceable. On the newer cards it does not just 'pop out' but I think it might on the AP9617/18/19.

Arrgghhh.... Found this thread after searching and hoping that removing the battery from an AP9617 might reset the config. Time to go find my serial cable.
