Electricity and UPS question

I'm currently powering my home studio rig through two APC brand UPS devices. I have the PC, displays, audio interface, and studio monitors all connected to the battery backups.

I'm not an electrician, so I can't offer any technical data to back this up, but my house experiences voltage irregularities from time to time. Lights will dim, etc., and so I'm trying to protect my gear as much as possible.

Am I doing anything wrong by running my equipment like this? I would love to invest in a Furman power sequencer/UPS/AC line conditioner, but I just can't afford it right now. Can these battery backups affect the audio at all?

I'm a musician, not an engineer, so please forgive my ignorance.

Re: Electricity and UPS question

Hi

I'm also a musician

You won't harm your equipment using a Backups

Depending on the backup type you have you may find on Battery that noise is introduced,

Another customer with a home studio had good success with the BR1600SI which gives a good quality sine wave output on battery
